Our Mission

The Bard High School Early College Queens (BHSECQ) Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) extends membership to all BHSECQ families, faculty, and staff. We are governed by our bylaws and the NYC Department of Education Regulation A-660.

Our mission is three-fold:

• Support students, parents, and faculty of BHSEC Queens so our children can excel.

• Advocate for our parents and students at large to bring positive change.

• Conduct fundraising activities to support students, parents, and faculty at BHSEC.

Meetings

PTA meetings are held monthly from September through June and are open to the BHSECQ community.

Meetings are an excellent way to keep up with what is happening at the school, and often we feature engaging talks by guest speakers. Meeting minutes are published online here and are available in the school’s main office.

The first meeting (of the year) is typically held in person in the 7th-floor cafeteria at BHSECQ, 30-20 Thomson Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101. The remaining meetings are held via Zoom.
